Not to be confused with an irrigation system part, your tree's "drip line" is the circle of ground defined by the circumference of the canopy of the tree. The best way to ensure the feeder roots are taking up enough water is to position your emitters along the drip line. As the tree grows and the roots spread, the drip line also changes, so keep an eye on your emitter placement from season to season.
